Ten42 Realty, LLC: A Third Generation Real Estate Organization Ten42 Realty was established in July 2023 by Alan Hardin. It represents the continuation and transformation of three generations of Real Estate organizations in the Hardin Family. It was born out of tragedy, a desire to help people with their real estate goals, and a drive to continue the family real estate legacy. At TEN42, we strive to continuously improve our trade craft through process improvement and education.
The organization began its legacy in the mid 1970’s as, “The Horseman’s Park” in rural Louisiana. Established by James and Bonnie Hardin (Alan’s parents), this small mobile home park had a portfolio of seven rental properties that included: a barn dominium apartment rental, a single-family residence rental, five mobile homes for rental, and fifteen mobile home lots. It was dissolved in 1990 after a change in the local market and a divorce.
Around this time, Travis Dowd (Alan’s paternal grandmother) established T.D. Rentals, LLC in Central Louisiana. T.D. Rentals would grow to have four single family rentals and one condominium rental by 2015. Upon her death in 2015, the business was inherited by her only child, James Hardin.
Out of this, T.D. Highpockets Rentals, LLC was born. Its unique name combined the original T.D of T.D. Rentals with “Highpockets,” the HAM Radio call-sign, used by Alan’s Father, James Hardin in the 1970s. This call-sign was recognized by those who knew James as a fairly accurate description of his physique. James, who was tall, skinny, and played Division I basketball in the 1960s appeared to have unusually long legs. Hence, the call-sign, Highpockets. T.D Highpockets Rentals, LLC was dissolved after James’ sudden passing from COVID in 2022.
This led to the final transformation to date and the formation of Ten42 Realty, LLC. Its namesake is a tribute to a combination of James’ birth month and year (October 1942) and Alan’s strong support of the first responders, fire fighters, and police who call the code 10-42 to signify their end of watch or retirement from active service. To all those who have served or are serving, we owe you a debt of gratitude beyond repayment!
Alan retired from military service to our country after more than 29 years as a career military officer and aviator. During that time, the family relocated more than eleven times before calling Central Texas home. He has become an expert in Central Texas, assisting others with their relocations by drawing on his own experiences and specialized designations, which include Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist, Real Estate Negotiation Expert, Seller Representative Specialist, Accredited Buyers Representative, and Military Relocation Expert.
With more than 10 years of experience in the real estate industry and 8 years in the credit industry, Alan combines a unique set of skills tested over time and a deep understanding of the often-complicated process that his clients will encounter to yield positive results for his clients.
